Kevin Lynch demoes Flex Builder at Web2.0

Mike Chambers just posted a recording from the Web 2.0 conference showing Kevin Lynch building a flickr browser application in just 5 minutes while presenting.

Kevin Lynch Kevin also focuses on buzzword #1 these days: AJAX and how nicely Flash 8 integrates with it. AJAX may sound fancy, but it's really not more than DHTML, XML and JavaScript doing things you have probably done for years using Dreamweaver. AJAX is an evolution made possible since old browsers now are more or less gone. It's not the revolution that some claim. The video is a very nice demo of how one could build an application using Flex Builder, so do check it out.

Also interesting to note: the Macromedians party to say farewell to the Macromedia name. Adobe is the one buying Macromedia, so Adobe Systems will be the name to get used to. We certainly hope that Macromedia's openness will affect Adobe. Macromedia has really succeeded with this release of Flash and that isn't just due to clever enineering.
