2007 Flash Goddess Award

The First Annual Flash Goddess Award! Sorry guys, this award is for women designers/developers only. It is designed to recognize, promote and reward talented, yet not quite discovered female talent in the Flash Industry.

After Flash On The Beach, there was an interesting discussion (read the comments) about a well known fact - there is not that many women at Flash conferences and in the Flash community. One interesting point by Angie Taylor was that "itâ€™s not so easy to find women who like showing off as men! but itâ€™s possible, Iâ€™m proof of that! ". Theres female talent around, but to get more women interested they need to see that there are indeed girls in our industry as well.

Some years ago, Ann-Marie Cheung started the site Flashgoddess.com to highlight female talent in the Flash scene. Now she's cooperating with FITC to highlight more female talent by creating a special award. (Guys, encourage your female colleagues to apply for this award!)

First prize winner of this award will receive the following:
-Promotion and profile on Flashgoddess.com
-Promotion and profile on FITC.ca
-A Ticket to the FITC Toronto 2007 Festival on April 22-24, 2007
-Award and recognition at the 2007 FITC Design & Technology Awards on April 24th, 2007.
-Other prizing to follow as well!
