CS3 available in the Adobe store

CS3 available in the Adobe store

Do you live in the US or Canada? You're in luck. The rest of the world will have to wait. Need a trial version of the new CS3 software? Sorry, that's impossible. Adobe is certainly full of surprises these days.

All the software in Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium, Design Standard, Web Premium, and Web Standard are now immediately available to customers in the United States and Canada. If you live anywhere else, you'll have to wait. Why? We don't know but we must say we find it odd in this time of downloadable software.

That's not the only odd thing from Adobe these days. The last weeks we've gotten several requests for those old Adobe trial CDs. Some weeks ago, trial versions of all CS3 products were pulled from the Adobe website. Adobe marketing probably thinks this is a good idea - other vendors might think this equals shooting your own foot. Why pull software that is readily available and that could increase your revenue? Weird, but some apparently think that Adobe is making enough money so they can spare those extra sales.

If you can't get your hands on CS3 (since you happen to live in the wrong part of the world), drop by the Adobe DevNet site to see what you're missing. Lot's of new articles on the CS3 products there and if you are curious about the new Flash version, make sure to read Flashmagazines (P)review of Flash CS3 here. Want more? Check out the beta versions of Premiere and After Effects that were just put out on Adobe Labs.
