A long time 3D vendor enters the Flash market. Discreet, makers of 3D Studio Max has launched Plasma, a program for doing web graphics.
Vecta 3D was the first plugin to offer SWF output, Illustrate 4.0 came shortly after and then came full 3D apps outputting optimized SWF's like Swift 3D. Plasma let's you output BOTH swf-format and ShockWave 3D in one app. The program is not priced anywhere near 3DS Max (usually about $3500) but will rather be about $650. The program does not contain the biggest features from 3DS either, but use the same underlying tech.
