The wait is over. Now you can download Flash 8 and start playing for yourself!

After a small pre-release for DevNet subscribers yesterday, Macromedia opened the servers. Now you can download and test all the new software: Flash 8, Dreamweaver 8, Fireworks 8 and Contribute 3.

There are still some unlucky glitches and the documentation is just as bad as we feared, but overall this is a really solid release. The problem with the documentation is that it's just ftp'ed onto the LiveDocs server without taking care of all the great comments on the previous version. Do the community have to start a separate project showing Macromedia how to do online documentation? We really thought we were past this by now.
