Flash Player 7 Beta 2 available

The second Beta of the Flash 7 player is available. Help Macromedia (and yourself) by testing your stuff with the new player.

Video performance, ActionScript speed and the update service are some of the features of the beta player. Test Flash sites and applications that you have created and report any problems you find.

The more bugs you can help find before the player is released to the general public, the better for both Macromedia and you since they will not need to release too many versions. From what we can remember, the Flash 6 player was mass distributed in at least 5 different versions. Many users stayed with the first version and never updated to the 6.0.79 player out now.

The Flash Player 7 will auto-update the plugin, but for end users it's better if they never see these upgrade notices. Most end users find such mechanisms intrusive, even if Macromedia has done a great job in making the auto-update as little annoying as possible.
