FlashDen
Some months ago, a fresh, new community site called FlashDen arrived. FlashDen picks up the glove where other sites left off, offering more than just forums and tutorials.
When blogging took off, the traditional Flash forums got competition from several hundreds of mini-forums covering almost all aspects of Flash development, programming and design. Most of these sites have developed little over the years, so it's refreshing to see a new, professional entry to the scene.
FlashDen offers forums, tutorials and resource listings but also a
well written blog, interviews, competitions in addition to both free and commercial source code. This last bit should be interesting to developers and designers. By signing up, you can use FlashDen as a store to sell your own stuff in a simple way. FlashDen offers Fonts, audio, video and Flash files, The royalty free files are sorted in categories and there is a rating system allowing users to give their feedback on the files. More then 240 files are available for you to buy and the price is set in credits rather than cash and one credit equals one US dollar. The files cost from one credit and upwards.
We have heard of other sites planning to implement such systems, but FlashDen beat them to it. To sell your own files, you sign up with FlashDen and fill out a short quiz. Then you can upload the files and start selling. You will earn 25% of each sale but if you choose to sell your content exclusively on FlashDen, you'll earn up to 50% if the content is really popular. Not too bad since FlashDen handles the sale, listing and marketing for you.
