Flashers advice taken by MM
Macromedia is in the process of removing the link to the buggy F5 Player from their main download-page after protests from the Flash community.
After Macromedia posted the Beta version of the Flash 5 player as a link on their main Flash download page, lots of users (wanting the latest tech) downloaded this. The player still has lots of bugs, and this has caused many sites to become useless.
... we ARE in the process of removing the link to the Flash 5 beta player from the *default* download page. You will still be able to get the beta player from the alternates grid, but the link will be taken off of the main page. says Matt Wobensmith, Flash Community Manager at Macromedia in a post to the Chinwag-list.
Matt also mentions that the link should have been removed last friday, but due to the current size of MM, things don't move as fast as you'd think sometimes. Well Flashers, according to MM's latest numbers there are now 500.000 Flash developers (and they still listen to us, the users for advice! Not bad for a big company...)
