Flashforward blog news
Here's some of the best snippets we've found from FlashForward in SF last week.
We'd love to report from
FlashForward ourselves (especially since SF is such a great city), but our schedule didn't fit. We'll try to arrange some live reporting from the New York event instead. Here's some of the most interesting snippets that others have posted:
FMX2004 Update 2 on it's way!
"Just in case you haven't heard yet, we have a Flash update to look forward to. Look for component enhancements and more documentation."
Christian Cantrell (Macromedia Server Community Manager) mentions this in his blog. Maybe we can actually start using FMX2004 for client work and not just for learning AS2? The 7.02 patch is long overdue and we really want it. Good wrapup on this, MX2004 components with MX compatability and other things at

Flash on Linux!
Loads of sites reporting this story. The FF demo was apparently done through Wine - a Windows emulation software for Linux. Wine has been able to run Flash (partially at least) since version 3, so is this really anything big? It's after all not a Linux version of the program. Maybe that'll change in the future?
"What we've been investigating is, When will it be time to bring our tools to Linux?" Lynch said. "I think it might be happening now." -
