Flashforward in Seattle late February

Flashforward in Seattle late February

After several year in San Fransisco, the FlashForward conference heads to Seattle - now with a change of focus towards new media in general with the addition of tracks for Motion Graphics, Imaging and Video Editing.

February 27th to March 1st are the dates for the new venue. The conference will be on the top floor of the Washington State Convention & Trade Center, a much more suited location than the one used in San Fran. Not only is the location new, but there are new topics on the agenda:
"Flashforward is growing, evolving, expanding -- this will be the biggest Flashforward in years, and you won't want to miss out. In addition to all the Flash topics you'd expect from us, we are also adding new tracks: After Effects, Video, Open Source & Flash, Physical Computing, Imaging, Motion Graphics, Video Editing and more."

Macromedia is soon Adobe, but adding After Effects, Video Editing (read : Premiere) and Imaging (read: Photoshop) to a Flash conference? This is an interesting move for the longest running Flash Conference. It can only mean that they will leave the original Flash crowd behind and aim for a wider, corporate audience. We've noticed a change over the years attending Flashforward. Less and less attendees are real Flash users. Many are just there "cause the company is paying" for some training. We hope we're wrong on this, or FlashForward will be just another New Media Conference of which there are several in Seattle already. Adding Open Source Flash to the program is a great idea and could actually mean otherwise. We'll see. The venue will be bigger, so that should also compensate. Here's our report from the previous NY conference.
