fMAME - arcade emulator done in Flash

This is just so sweet. About 2 years ago, we saw a C64 emulator. Today it's a full MAME arcade emulator done in Flash. Now you can play those classic games directly in your browser thanks to the power of Flash plugin. The selection of games are a little limited for now and sound is missing but the emulator plays really well for a first version!

We poked at this two years ago, but now it's happened. Korean Flash/Flex developer yvern.com just released fMAME - an implementation of the MAME arcade machine emulator. We don't know the tech specs here, but from the first looks fMAME is only a partial implementation of the full MAME emulator. It can play all the early classics such as Galaga, 1943, BombJack, Commando, Donkey Kong, PacMan, Marion Bros and many more. This indicates that the emulator supports the early chips in the arcade machines. We're sure this project will get a lot of attention and we hope Vern will keep expanding it so one can play more advanced ROM's such as Street Fighter, Mortal Combat, DOA and Virtua Fighter! Retro gamers rejoyce!

Note - this version does not offer sound support and do not use the Debug version of the Flash Player to test or you'll get poor framerates.

Well, it sounds like some guys did even better than fMAME, I have just stumbled upon this website : http://www.easyretro.com and they run powerful modern MAME 16-bit games at full speed….

Try Nostradamus for instance, it’s really impressive…
