Getting started with Flash Player 10

Yesterday, Lee Brimelow posted a great video tutorial showing how to get started playing with Flash Player 10, Hank Williams has some clever thoughts on the new Peer to Peer functionality and Peter Elst sums up The recent Adobe Community Summit.

For now, creating Flash Player 10 content does require you to use the command line compiler and do some setup. You can find Lee Brimelow's video tutorial here or go straight to opensource.adobe.com to set this without instructions. Lee's video is a complete "Hello World"-like tutorial that also highlights a new Flash Player 10 data type called Vectors (typed arrays!). Well worth checking out! It's also worth noting that yesterdays release covers all three major platforms, Windows, OSx and Linux (Flash Player 10 now supports Ubuntu, one of the most popular flavors of Linux).

While we mentioned the new P2P features yesterday, Hank Williams (no, not that Hank Williams) have been doing some extended thinking around the possibilities. While we're not sure if what he outlines will be possible, it's certainly intriguing thoughts.

Peter Elst is just back from the Adobe Community Summit, a yearly event where Adobe invites members of the community to learn about new technology and mingle with Adobe employees. A great event for those that want to learn from Adobe as well as for Adobe to gather feedback from core users.
