Illustrator 9 gets Flashsavvy

Illustrator finally gets Flash right. Forget the Flash-writer plugin and it's font-bugs.

Illustrator is now able to do the things Freehand users have been doing for some time, like 'release to layers' and 'Layers to frames'. In addition, Adobe has added true transparency, layer masks, instant drop shadows and glows, and live shapes to expand on the features found in LiveMotion.

Adobe also continues it's strong commitment to the SVG-format:

Illustrator 9.0 provides excellent support for exporting files to Flash (SWF) format, as well as to the new Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) standard. says Adobe.
