Macromedia Captivate

Macromedia announced Macromedia Captivate earlier today. This isn't a new product but is in fact the latest iteration of RoboDemo, the capture software gained through Macromedia's aquisition of eHelp in October 2003. The name change is intended to emphasise that Captivate is as much about simulaton as demonstration.

Macromedia Captivate enables anyone to easily record onscreen activity that can then be exported in the Flash format. These captures can then be used to create software demonstrations and interactive simulations.

This new version has the new look and feel and tighter integration with other Macromedia products such as Flash MX2004 and Breeze. Important new features include a revamped timeline, expanded audio capability and support for Unicode and 508 Accessability.
