ScreenWeaver MX available

RubberDuck of Netherlands announced today that their anticipated tool ScreenWeaver MX is immediately available. What does it do? It will let you extend the capabilities of Flash beyond anything previously possible...

ScreenWeaver may be every Flash developers dream. Using Flash, you can easily create self-running applications called Projectors. These projectors can do a few things that cannot be done when a SWF is playing on the web such as opening documents and quitting itself. The projectors look rather "square" and unappealing. Due to this, there are many Projector tools available for Windows computers. These will let you escape the "squareness" of the Flash projector and many special features.

Unlike other projector tools on the market today, ScreenWeaver will give you access to virtually any part of a Windows computer. Browse for files, open dialogues, create tray menus, create partially transparent windows, create screensavers, custom installer programs, use the scroll wheel on a mouse, open and close windows, write to the registry, create shortcuts and much more. The tasks described are done within Flash with ActionScript extensions that fit perfectly into your workflow. No more obscure FSCommands, just pure ActionScript (using custom commands) complete with an integrated reference. Using ActiveScripting, you can author directly against the OS, DLLs and COM objects, so this is by far the most advanced Projector tool to date and just to prove it, the tool itself and it's debugger (integrates with Flash MX) are both created with ScreenWeaver!

ScreenWeaver will retail for $279, but are offered at a $100 introductory discount at the moment. Expect a review on Flashmagazine shortly.
