Only two months before the Singularity conference were to kick off, a British company came forth and proclaimed that they owned the trademark for the name. To prevent spending time on the issue, Aral Balkan has now renamed the conference "head" and for good measure, he has even trademarked the name.
Those following Aral on Twitter could follow the events as they unfolded, from Aral getting the first letter, discussing it with his lawyer and then the rebranding of the conference as "<head> the global web conference". The new conference site looks sharp and theres now more than 70 speakers confirmed. The sessions cover a wide range of topics and local conference hubs are being set up across the globe, so with the naming issues out of the way, this loks to be a great event! Let's just hope Google's App Engine is up to the task...
Another thing - the deadline for Early Bird tickets have been extended until September 30th. The Early Bird tickets for Adobe MAX North America has been extended as well until Sept 19th.
