Summer software updates
It's been a long warm summer and the FlashMag news section have not been updated too often. Now we are back, fully rested and ready to fill you in on the summers events.
SwiffChart 3.0 sample
During the summer, several software vendors have updated their software to improved or new versions.
RoboDemo has launched their 4.0 version and they've also gotten a new competitor in MultiDMedias
FlashCast. MultiDMedia have obviously been looking around for more apps to copy, so with
FlashCandy, they intend to take up competition with
ScreenTime Media's SWF DeskTop recently
reviewed here at FlashMag.
Doing charts with Flash? GlobFX have released their 3.0 version of
SwiffChart, a client and server side solution for making graphs. One of the oddest Flash creations programs out there,
3D Flash Animator, have been updated to version 4. Odd? Well, their website looks a bit "cheap", but what other SWF programs other than Macromedia Flash can do 3D Animation, scripting, game development, text effects and has database support at only $50?
Flexidev Corporation recently released the 1.2 update to Asset Mover, a brilliant tool that will let you fix that annoying problem of having to load all components in the first frame. This tool is a must for any professional Flash developer and is now also available for OSX.
Developing Intranets with Flash? Need searchability? ISYS Search Software have SWF-enabled their
ISYS search software searching not only URL's within the SWFs (like Google), but also the full text.
WildForm, the makers of Flix and other cool SWF software, has updated their text effect tool
WildFX to version 3. The Pro version can now export to .mov, .avi, .dv, and .mp4 formats. Both products come with more than 400 premade effects.
There's been a lot of application development going on during the summer. At
www.hugphone.com you can find a cute thing, but our summertime favourite must be the
RC-experiment done by Bascule. Try driving a video-enabled RC car using FlashCom!
