Not pleased with the performance of the standalone player that comes with Flash? Swiff Player is a free program that will use the OpenGL features of your graphics card to play back movies even faster.
GlobFX has just released two free Flash Players. The first is a standalone program called Swiff Player that can be used instead of the standalone player that comes with Flash. Using the power of your graphics card, it can significantly increase the playback speed for SWF files and allows you to playback full screen at high frame rates. In hardware accelerated mode there's also some 3D FX available, letting you wrap the SWF around a 3D Cube/ball, rotating it freely while the animation are playing. The effects are cool but pretty useless. Playback speed was great during our tests, but there were some small rendering bugs. The player also has a seek bar, in addition to the ordinary play, pause and stop buttons.
