The 2008 Flash Goddess Award

Back in 2002, Ann-Marie Cheung registered the domain flashgoddess.com to highlight female talent in the Flash community. At FITC Toronto, it is time for the second annual Flash Goddess Award.

Just as we are getting ready to go to FITC Amsterdam (see note below), there's news from the Toronto FITC show as well. At the show, Ann-Marie Cheung, editor and creator of Flashgoddess.com will hand out the second annual Flash Goddess Award, awarded to talented women in our business that innovative, creative and inspirational.

"The 2nd annual Flash Goddess Award is designed to recognize, promote, and reward talented women designers/developers working in the Flash industry. Applicants will be required to submit for consideration their online portfolios and/or projects they have worked on. They will be judged on concept, visual design, technical excellence, and the overall effectiveness to bring these elements together to give us the 'wow' effect. We wish to highlight women who are innovative, creative and inspirational in their production of interactive media."

The deadline for applying is Midnight March 15th, 2008. We love how simple and straightforward the terms for this competition is. Here's our favorite quote: "IF YOU ARE SUCCESSFUL, you will receive email confirmation by April 2nd. If you do not receive an email, unfortunately you were not successful.". This is Canada after all, so there's no need for lengthy legal disclaimers and rules.
