Turbine Video Encoder

Blue Pasific has released Turbine Video Encoder, a complete environment for the creation of optimized streaming Flash video according to them.

Turbine Video Encoder can encode QuickTime, AVI and MPEG video, as well as several image formats into regular Flash format. The encoder includes video compression by using MPEG-like temporal redundancy encoding. All image manipulation is done on the YUV color space.

Turbine Video Encoder generates Flash movies compatible with Flash 4 and Flash 5 formats (and Flash 3 on some cases).

You can browse the source video and select the encoding interval on a Timeline interface. Comprehensive encoding settings and a variety of presets allow you full control of the quality/size tradeoff.

Blue Pasific has made available a 30 day trial for download, so you can see if the product live up to their promises. Available for Win32 machines only.
