WildSWfX is one of the most popular text effect tools available for Flash. A while ago they launched a dev kit for their application and here are the results.

While you're at their site, download FlaDETECT too. It's an easy way to detect all Flash versions. You'll find this and lot's of other neat stuff in their Downloads section.
