Blaze PDF released

The wondeful Gregg Wygonik has released the first version of his BlazePDF tool that enables you to create PDF documents directly from Flash.

Some time ago, we wrote about Gregg's experiments on converting drawings done in Flash to PDF documents. BlazePDF is a component that you simply drop into your movie and then use instead of the ordinary drawing commands found in Flash. Both text and drawings are supported. Bitmap support will arrive at a leter stage. Not only does the component support the drawing commands, it also enhances some of them for drawing ellipses and grids. Not only is this a great tool - it's also free to download and use. Future versions with AS2 support and more features will be commercial, but the current AS1 version is all free.

Using serverside scripts (ASP or PHP) available from Gregg's site, your user may create a layout/drawing (i.e. for a business card generator) and then click a button to download a PDF. Using free serverside tools such as ImageMagick, you can even parse this into any one of 89 different image formats!
