Community conference update: Pittsburg and Oslo
Flash on The Beach is just finished, but there's more happening in the conference arena. The Flash community offer smaller, local conferences and if you're in the states nearby Pittsburg, PA, make sure you drop by Flashpitt 08 this week. Two weeks later, Flash User Group Norway puts on a FlexCamp in Oslo.
The Ying and Yang of Flash
Tucked away in the Pavilion this session from Adobe's 'Senior Director of Engineering' Paul Betlem and 'Technical Product Manager for Flash' Richard Galvan, was always destined to be packed out. Whilst the keynote on day one covered the big features of CS4, this talk focused on the smaller features and workflow improvements that go with them. Surprisingly, it proved just as full of insights into the workings of Adobe as it was of their new products.
Flash On The Beach 2008 - Day 3 (updated)
How do you empty 2 bars in a night? Put on a Flash conference in a beautiful location, give attendees inspiring sessions and then throw a party where they can network until early morning. Up until now, FOTB08 has been a blast and day 3 was no exception. It also featured the most discussed session in the entire conference.
Flash On The Beach 2008 - Day 2
The crowd was up early, despite the party ending at about 3 in the morning at The Old Ship. Aral kicked it off in the the Dome and as always, the program is packed and it's hard to pick what sessions to go to.
Flash for the iPhone confirmed at FOTB
At the Flash On The Beach (FOTB) conference in Brighton, Sr. Director of Engineering at Adobe Systems Paul Betlem, confirmed that Adobe is indeed developing a Flash Player for the iPhone. However, Apple calls the shots as to when it'll be available.
FOTB 2008 Conference reports
It's that time again for the community to gather in Brighton. For three full days, 1050 attendees will enjoy inspiring sessions, networking and countless conversations over british beer. Many had arrived 2-3 days early, just to make sure they had time to party and catch up with friends before the conference kicked off. This just doesn't happen on other conferences and the community feel at FOTB is just amazing!
Flash On The Beach 2008 - Day 1
This years FOTB conference kicked off with a neat intro animation and a surprise from conference host John Davey - in April 2009, Flash On The Beach will go to Miami! The keynote by Richard Galvan was the first session of the event and the first time the final build of Flash CS4 was shown at a conference.

Just in time for Flash On The Beach, the Away3D team release yet another kick ass demo - The Railway Express, showcasing the 3D engine's latest features and capabilities such as bones support, simple shadows, object based renderers, path tools and more.
