Flash CS4, big changes ahead

When CS3 came out almost 18 months ago, we didn't know what to expect from the new merger between Adobe and Macromedia. What we got in the IDE was some new panels and copy and paste between a few of the apps. But Flash CS4 is what we have really been waiting for since Flash became an Adobe property. Several advancements in the IDE, new animation controls and did I mention 3D?


Amazon leaks CS4 details and packaging (again)

This is starting to become a nice tradition. Just as for the CS3 launch, Amazon slips again and exposes box shots, screenshots, pricing, release date and details of the upcoming CS4 release from Adobe.


SlideRocket goes into Public Beta phase

SlideRocket is a Flex RIA you may have seen or heard about when attending Adobe presentations. It's a fully featured presentation tool that is delivered either online or as an AIR application. It's one of the first really professional grade consumer applications made with Flex/AIR and it's loaded with cool and innovative features. It's been demoed many times, but today is the first time ordinary users test the application themselves.


AIR Beta for Linux out on Labs

Mike Chambers just posted that the Beta version of AIR for Linux is out on Adobe Labs. The previous version was an Alpha version and this Beta is close to feature complete.


Adobe discontinues FlashPaper

There was some discussion about this when Adobe took over Macromedia. Several wondered if FlashPaper would survive the merger and some days ago it was announced that Adobe won't create a new version of the FlashPaper technology.

Singularity becomes -head-

Only two months before the Singularity conference were to kick off, a British company came forth and proclaimed that they owned the trademark for the name. To prevent spending time on the issue, Aral Balkan has now renamed the conference "head" and for good measure, he has even trademarked the name.
