Beau Ambur had picked up the conference from Lynda Weinman and this year was her first not organizing the conference but rather as a speaker and part of the prestigious FlashForward Film Festival jury. 64 bit Flash Player for Linux in the works

At FlashForward, Flash Player engineer Tinic Uro demoed a forthcoming version of the much requested 64 bit version of the Flash Player. No release dates, but we'd say this really confirms Adobe's commitment to be on all platforms.


Flex SDK 3.1 and Flex Builder 3.0.1 update

This update was released a couple days ago, but we have not seen it mentioned. The Flex SDK and Flex Builder was just updated to support AIR 1.1, Flash Player 10 as well as numerous bug fixes. This update is probably worth downloading and installing for all Flex users.


The future of Actionscript

Yesterday, a small bomb exploded among the Flash programming community - the proposed ECMAScript 4 standard will not become the next generation of Javascript. Instead, the working group have opted for a much less ambitious expansion of the existing ECMA3. To Flash developers, this means that Actionscript 3 is now based on a standard that's up in the air.


fMAME - arcade emulator done in Flash

This is just so sweet. About 2 years ago, we saw a C64 emulator. Today it's a full MAME arcade emulator done in Flash. Now you can play those classic games directly in your browser thanks to the power of Flash plugin. The selection of games are a little limited for now and sound is missing but the emulator plays really well for a first version!


Singularity begins

Yesterday the site for the worlds first large scale online web conference went live and ticket sales were opened. For three full days in October, up to 10.000 web professionals will meet at a virtual conference backed by physical conference hubs across the world for a one of a kind event.


Flex 4 SDK available
