About a month ago, Adobe announced a paid upgrade to Creative Suite 3. Today they announced the immediate availability of Adobe CS 3.3 Design Premium, Design Standard, Web Premium, and Master Collection editions. Do you need it? Probably not.

Acrobat 9 gets a dose of Flash

When Adobe merged with Macromedia, many Flash users were afraid that Adobe would also meld Acrobat with Flash, creating a behemoth plugin. Today, Acrobat 9 was launched and it actually contains the full Flash Player 9. A lot of the new Acrobat 9 features are Flash driven.

After almost 10 years of working with Flash, I sometimes make the mistake of assuming that everyone knows what Flash is. Most people can't succinctly define it - they have their perceptions, but it's vague. Maybe you're someone that can define it. Kudos to you, but ask your spouse, friends, or family. They may even know you as someone that "does Flash stuff." But ask them what Flash is and you get partial answers at best.


Successful Flash exploit in the wild

Today, Adobe was alerted to what could be one of the first successful exploits of the Flash Player. All users are urged to update their Flash Player to the latest version immediately. The exploit is using a known vulnerability and all Flash Players except for the latest version are a target.
