Apple sues Sorenson

Apple is sueing Sorenson to block it from licensing its compression software for Macromedia's Flash MX

Macromedia's Flash MX was released earlier this year. One of the key features in the new version of Flash is its streaming video capabilities. Macromedia teamed up with Sorenson on March 4th of this year to offer Flash's video support.

Apple says Sorenson breached a contract that prohibits it from developing, marketing, or licensing any version of the compression software used in QuickTime to competitors such as Macromedia, according to court papers filed Friday in federal court in San Jose, California.
