CS3.3 available

About a month ago, Adobe announced a paid upgrade to Creative Suite 3. Today they announced the immediate availability of Adobe CS 3.3 Design Premium, Design Standard, Web Premium, and Master Collection editions. Do you need it? Probably not.

The only real news here for Flash/FLEX developers is the ability to embed SWF content inside Acrobat 9. In reality this is what you'd pay for. For Print professionals, this is much more interesting as the new PDF preview features alone can save failed print runs.

"With features like Intelligent Overprint Preview, accurate RGB and CMYK to black conversion, enhanced preflight and automatic correction, and PDF standards verification, Adobe Creative Suite 3.3 and Acrobat 9 Pro promise to dramatically streamline our production workflows," said James Wamser, senior training specialist at Sells Printing Company LLC, a nationally recognized, full-service commercial printer. "With this release, Adobe continues to advance its leadership position and deliver breakthrough technology and tools that solve some of the creative industry's most pressing challenges."

So - unless you work at a print shop and double as a print designer, you can safely ignore this upgrade.
