Flash CS4 sneak peek pictures (updated)
At the WebDU conference in Sydney, attendees got a sneak peek of the new Flash CS4 IDE and we`ve got pictures for you. A brand new property inspector and timeline will change how you work with Flash.
At former conferences, Adobe officials have shown off new CS4 features such as Inverse Kinematics, using a modified version of Flash CS3. In Sydney, we got a peek of the new look of Flash CS4.

Note how the property inspector is now moved to the side panel. This will allow a lot more properties to be set easily. Mike noted that the former version had very limited space, restricting the further development of the tool. This new way to organize the panel will allow further additions and also make Flash more in line with other Adobe Tools.
Editing animation using Bezier curves. Just click and drag the entire curve to move the animation about the screen. No need to select keyframes, just drag and drop.
This is the new animation timeline. You've got individual splines for positioning, transforms, colors, effects and filters, providing a level of control never formerly possible. You can have separate easing types for ANY parameter! Also note that in the property inspector you'll be able to set not only X and Y position of objects, but also the depth (Z)
For doing 3D transforms of 2D objects, a small sphere will appear that makes it super easy to flip and flop images in 3D space
As you may have guessed, we`re currently in Sydney for the WebDU conference so there'll be more reports from the event coming up.
Finally something new for animators! Greg Rewis showing off the Inverse Kinetics capabilities in Flash (Authoring) 10. Just draw some shapes, then draw the limbs on top of that and off you go. The limbs can be animated both at runtime and authortime. Expect to see more animated figures in Flash from now on.
Make sure you also check out our conference reports from WebDU Day 1 and Day 2
The images in this report was updated June 20th as we got access to the RAW files so we could adjust the images for better clarity.
