Flash Player 8 video Preview

Colin Moock just posted a video file from the Macromedia Flash Conference in Tokyo, Japan. In this video, Kevin Lynch show off three major features: bitmap effects, massive speed and Alpha-masked video.

Heavy components race across the screen, so expect something above the usual 40-60% increase in speed. In the video there is actually a FPS-counter that shows a tenfold increase of redrawing speed. If this holds up, it will do wonders for what you can make.

The video also shows off some realtime bitmap effects and video displaying with a alpha channel ontop of text being edited. Looks like there's good things to come...
