MotionArtist 3.0

e-frontier is a company better known for Poser and excellent 3D Software Shade than it's Flash tools. MotionArtist is now in it's third incarnation and it's supposedly even easier to use than before.

MotionArtist 3.0 is not a tool for the average Flash Designer or Coder. It's more like the kind of tool you could recommend for "cheap" clients that think they can do better looking banners than you can. MotionArtist 3.0 is a "text-animation and moving images" software that there are many of already.

We get a bad feeling when reading marketing talk like this:
"With MotionArtist 3.0, point-and-click button features replace the complicated scripting typically required for Flash animation, putting interactive banners, navigation buttons, menus, and photo albums right at your fingertips!". Ease of use is a good thing, but it makes us sceptic not to see the code? How hard is it understand what play() and stop() does? Our guess is that the average Flashmagazine reader is well above this level.

e-frontier does however have a good track-record for other software, so without trying it out, we'd guess this is above the average and priced at $29 it won't exactly rob you either. We can't help but think that they "just made this" since they already had the SWF assets after integrating SWF export in Poser? Anyway: if you do illustrational work and don't know Poser, you should really check it out.
