A few days ago, Macromedia released a new version of the Flash Player (6.0.79.0) with numerous bugfixes and improvements. Today, media have also picked up on a security hole fixed by this player.
The security hole was discovered by sources outside Macromedia and reported. The hole could make it possible to execute code outside the Flash Players Sandbox security. The security hole has not yet been exploited by anyone.
Among the enhancements are better audio sync, audio delay adjustments and smoother video for FlashCom applications. A TimeZone fix has been added as well as a rendering bug.
