Test drive Adobe Photoshop Express

Test drive Adobe Photoshop Express

Today Adobe unveiled yet another online property - a super-lightweight version of Photoshop. It's fun and has several good features, but feels very limited and somewhat buggy.

Photoshop Express has been showed publicly on several occasions, but now you can try it for yourself. Click here to open and try for yourself. All the core tools are present. You can rotate, correct colors, remove red-eye, sharpen/blur as well as some simple effects. It's all rather snappy even if you load big images but what's with only being able to select a tint from 6 preset colors? It's cool to integrate with Facebook, Picasa and Photobucket but why not Flickr?

The app is certainly buggy. It took us less than 2 minutes to produce a critical bug that required us to reload the whole thing. Others have also found bugs, but give this app a little time and it can be a great asset if you're away from your computer. This won't replace the desktop version of Photoshop anytime soon, but it's a good and consumer focused entry into a brand new market with only a few competitors. Draw*logic has some good comments. Also fun to note - according to James Ward's IsItFlex service, Photoshop Express was NOT made with Flex?
