Flash MX Graphics, Animation & Interactivity

January 12th 2003 | Sindre Engen

So you are a beginner? You really admire Flash, but you don't know how to use it and what Flash really is? Then Graphics, Animation & Interactivity by James L. Mohler could be the book for you, though it is not perfect. The author seem to have lost some enthusiasm while writing, but the book cover every aspect of Flash MX. An earlier version of this book exists, so you might call this book an update. The book will definitely answer some, but not all, of your questions.

This book has been anticipated for a long time, but I was caught slightly off guard. If you are new to the concept of Object Oriented Programming and ActionScripting, this is not the book for you. If you are an intermediate to advanced ActionScripter, this is THE book to get.

Back in July, Macromedia started shipping a brand new product, the Flash Communication Server (FlashCom). Designing Web Usability : The Practice of Simplicity

December 22nd 2002 | Jacek Artymiak

When Jakob Nielsen's "Designing Web Usability" was published in 2000, I quickly bought a copy and read it in one evening. Finally, I had a book that was the closest thing I could find to the "Chicago Manual of Style" for the web. I used it to review many websites, and ruined two copies of that book over the last two years. I just got another copy, and I am going to use it as extensively as the last two.
